Holley
Nestled in the eastern portion of Orleans County, the picturesque Village of Holley proudly stands. The village owes its existence to the Erie Canal and was named for Myron Holley, one of the canal commissioners. First settled in 1812, the rich farmlands enticed many settlers. Incorporated in 1850, soon the railroad came and afforded the residents easier travel and the farmers better shipping for their produce. The quarry business boomed in the late 1800's and brought an influx of talented immigrants to the area.
Holley has a historic Village Square surrounded by the business section. There are several sandstone buildings throughout the village which remind us of the past as we view their beauty. This rural community strives to the blend the past with the future. Our Canal Park is beautiful and appeals to everyone. People can picnic, walk, listen to concerts, use the playground, fish, or just sit at the Holley Falls enjoying the serenity. Holley is a safe place to live and offers residents stores, schools, churches, clubs, a library, a community center and a museum. We also have many community events year round, as well as our own electric company, police department, and volunteer fire department. Holley is a quiet, small, rural community and a great place to call Home.
